Personal Statement about APHA-SA:
I developed a passionate interest in public health during my undergraduate years at the George Washington University and have continued developing that interest into my current program. In 2005, I had the opportunity to attend and present at the APHA Conference in Philadelphia, and was awed by the energy and passion that the students I met exhibited. I feel that it is important for students to have a strong voice in making change, so when I saw that APHA-SA was recruiting applications for the Nominations Committee Chair, I jumped at the chance to become more involved in such a great organization. I am very lucky to have been selected for this position and am excited to be able to work with such a dynamic, passionate group of students from around the country. As the Nominations Chair, I look forward to participating on the board and helping to recruit more talented individuals into leadership positions.
